| I can happily say that I was one of the 17,000 or so fans that witnessed Sidney Crosby score his 100th point in the NHL. It was the best Penguins game that I have ever been to, Mellon Arena went absolutely nuts when he hit 100. It was the last home game of the season and Fan Appreciation Night. For those of you not in-the-know, Fan Appreciation Night also means the "Shirts Off Our Backs" night. In addition to giving out a ton of stuff during the game, 20 fans win a Penguins game worn jersey. Mind you, some players obviously switched jerseys before the third period (trust me, no one got Sid's 100th point game worn jersey), they still make for a very valuable item. Unfortunately, I didn't win one. However, I did get a "I Support Pittsburgh First" T-shirt on my way in. The majority of the "Pittsburgh First" shirts handed out ended up on the ice when Crosby earned his 100th point from an assist on a Ryan Malone goal. I also bought a nice new Colby Armstrong jersey before the game. No doubt the ticket stub will be framed at some point. Be jealous. |
